Hello!

On the first Sunday of April, I read a familiar scripture many of us read that same day in John 12. This Palm Sunday, however, something stood out to me that had not caught my eye before and I need to bring it up because that very night, my husband and I experienced a miracle (hang on and I’ll tell you the story). Afterwards, I was reminded again of the insight from that morning.

While reading verses 17-19, I had noticed the crowd that was praising Jesus and shouting “Hosannah” were mainly made up of out of town visitors. They had witnessed the miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead just days before, and were telling others about it. People who were hearing of this miracle from those who’d witnessed it were the ones going out to meet & follow Jesus. Why? Because someone had told them about what they had seen. They heard about the miracle and went to check it out for themselves. Then they praised Jesus because they believed He would give them hope!

Today…when we hear of these breaking news events, we go to google, search YouTube, or see who’s talking about it on social media. Inquiring minds want to know! We hear about it so we go find out more, then we choose if we believe it or not. And if we do, we click FOLLOW so we can stay informed. Why? Because we heard about what someone else experienced! That’s why!

That morning, I resolved in my heart to tell others of the miraculous things Jesus has done for me and as I witness and experience His hand on my life….to tell others. Why? So they too will want to follow Jesus. That’s why it’s important we share our stories! They give hope to others and it is in Jesus we find it.

That night…. God came to our rescue and spared our lives. We are grateful and must tell others about it.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NLT

Here’s our miracle: Greg & I took a late flight to Atlanta, GA for a 2-day business conference and had to drive an hour from the airport to a resort where the event was taking place. We were in a rental car, 15 minutes from our destination, at 10:45 pm on the highway, when a big pickup truck came out of nowhere into our lane, traveling at least 80 mph. We were sideswiped in a hit and run situation. The truck was much larger than our car, and rammed the driver’s side in 2 places and scraped the side of the vehicle. MIRACULOUSLY…our car did not change lanes, did not spin out, did not run into another car, and we were not hurt in any way! No scratches, bumps, bruises, soar muscles…nothing! My husband was able to share details with the 911 operator before we pulled over to wait for the police officer, though the truck took off quickly in the opposite direction. ANOTHER MIRACLE: We both remained calm! Greg controlled the vehicle amazingly and I did not scream, panic or fear. The Lord was with us and we knew it. I told Greg that when we get to heaven, I’d like to request to see the video reel of the accident, because I am sure the “unseen evidence” looks like a giant angel pushing the truck away from our lane. The officer said that if it had continued in our lane any longer, we most certainly would have spun out and it would have been a very bad day for many people. BUT GOD CAME TO OUR RESCUE! Hosannah! Praise Jesus!

I remembered that I had declared that very morning that when I witnessed (or experienced) His miracles, I would tell others about it and so I share my story. My hope is that as you are hearing (reading) about how God worked on our behalf, that you will have hope that EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T SEE IT…Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, and you can trust that He is able to help you too. He helps us in times of trouble, when we are anxious, afraid, or experiencing the pain of loss or disappointment. He will never leave or forsake you! Turn your hearts to Jesus and expect your own miracles! THEN TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT!!
