Hello,

I asked the Lord today what He would have me say to you and I heard in the stillness of my spirit these words: “Turn your hearts towards me!” It seems fitting as today we are celebrating Valentine’s Day and the Lord wants us to give Him our whole heart as we set our thoughts on things above and on Jesus!

In the busy of your day…take time to sit in the stillness of His Presence and turn your heart and your thoughts towards the Lord! Take delight in Him because He delights in you! Zephaniah 3:17 says “The Lord your God…will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love and rejoice over you with singing.”

This beautiful picture describes a relationship we share with God, a friendship with Him, restored by Jesus and made tangible by the Holy Spirit abiding in our hearts. He delights in us and we too should delight in Him. I love the way Psalm 37:4 reads in TPT, “Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and He will give you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life…” The word delight means “to gain great pleasure, satisfaction and happiness.” A beautiful meaning of the word “delight” in Hebrew means “to be soft or tender.”

I don’t know about you, but this picture I see in my mind of sitting on the couch with the Lord, speaking softly and tenderly with one another, is filling my heart with peace and beauty. It’s the Love of God for us that compels us to desire Him and be satisfied. The Lord is my true delight! He is the lover of my soul and in His Holy Presence, I have sweet fellowship with Him. He satisfies me and grants me happiness. His mercies are tender and abundant. Delighting in the Lord means desiring Him! And when we desire HIM…He gives us the most amazing desires of our heart! He fills us with Himself!!! When we turn our heart towards the Lord…we desire Him…and He gives us the desires of our heart! THIS IS GOOD NEWS!

I also understand the word “turn” to mean repentance as that is what is meant by our turning towards Him. We turn our steps around in a 180 degree turn and move in the direction of the Lord. We walk away from living life without Him and following our own desires apart from Him…TOWARDS HIM and the desires He has for our lives! Repentance is required of every heart to receive the salvation Jesus paid for. It is a daily act of submission to the Holy Spirit as He reveals things our hearts are turning towards. It is okay to enjoy good things and people the Lord has brought our way, but when we desire these things and others more than we desire Christ…we put a block in our relationship with Him. It’s then hard to hear His voice, and our hearts become hardened to His ways. If you find yourself in this place, wondering how to become a friend and lover of God once again or perhaps for the first time, there is hope for you!

Soften your hearts towards God by repenting and turning towards Him. He wants to sit with you and minister to your heart, tenderly showering you with His love! He also wants to know that your heart is inclined towards Him. TURN YOUR HEART TOWARDS JESUS and choose to love & trust Him and let the Holy Spirit heal your heart and restore relationship with the ONE who created you, desires you and is waiting for you! He will receive your affection and will quiet you with His love and rejoice over you with singing.
