Hello,
Happy January and Here’s to the New Season that lays ahead of us this year!
You may think I’m referring to the New Year in ways that everyone else does, like as in a new season of goals, plans, dreams, starting things, finishing things, etc. and in many ways I am, but it’s way bigger and better than that I am speaking of. You see, I am a planner and I love to organize and make and check off lists, and I love to set goals, but these things will only be good thoughts if not done with intention and purpose. But what if we approached this season of focus by seeking His purpose for our lives, which is the BEST WAY! Perhaps you have a word the Lord has given you to ponder and to grow in during 2022. Perhaps you’ve written out your core values, mission or vision statement, or you’ve written out your plan of action to meet your goals.
I think ALL of these things are important and I too have done many though not all of these. However… if you are like me at all, sometimes, I can get overwhelmed, stressed or anxious because I’ve perhaps taken on too much. I have even sometimes not taken my ideas to the Lord to see what He thinks, but rather I’ve asked the Lord to bless my plans as though they were His. I’m reminded in the Word that His ways are not like our ways, and my friend, THAT IS GOOD NEWS!!! We read in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”Did you catch that? His ways are higher…not just because He’s in Heaven which is higher than earth, but His ways are better. GOD’S PLANS ARE FOR YOU and He sees things from an eternal perspective. He knows things we don’t know. Here’s the thing: HE IS A GOOD FATHER and He knows how to care for His sons and daughters. It is okay to ask Him to bless your plans, but if we start our plans with His plans in mind first, we will surely be successful and have peace of mind in the process. Sometimes He says yes and sometimes He says no, and sometimes He says… wait! But the question is how do you know? How do you know which way you should go? How do you know how to hear His voice? I wrote a poem the Holy Spirit inspired that may help answer this question. Scroll down to read: The Way I Should Go (download the pdf)
I’d like to challenge you to start a New Season of intimacy with Jesus right now! Ask Him to lead you, guide you and reveal Himself to you through the written Word of God, through prayer which is communication with Him, and by listening to His voice by His Spirit who leads us into all truth. Present your requests to your Father because you are His child and He wants to be your source. He loves you! And then, by all means, make your plans, but remember as we are told in Proverbs 16:9, it is the Lord who directs your steps and you can trust Him!
By the Way…THANK YOU to all who have read my book, Good Grief I’m Healed, in paperback or ebook. As I write this (January 12th) we are celebrating the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of it’s release. Many have received encouragement, inner healing, hope and practical tools to overcome anxiety, fear, effects of trauma, grief and false beliefs. Please share this resource with others and be looking for additional resources this year. Yes…it is one of my goals, but it is also a plan the Lord has put into motion. His Way!
As always…If you have a specific prayer request you’d like to me to pray, I’d be honored. Just reply to this email.
